A REMINDER NOTE: IMPLEMENTATION OF 24 HOURS CARGO MANIFEST RULE FOR MEXICO

 

We would like to kindly remind you that the Mexico 24 Hours Cargo Manifest Rule would be implemented on 1st September 2007 as we previously announced.

 

As mentioned, shipping carriers must provide and file cargo manifest with Mexican Customs 24 hours prior to vessel arrival of direct loading port. While the rule only applies for the shipment in transit (i.e. transhipment) or with final destination Mexico, but FROB (Freight retained on board) cargo does not fall into this rule.

 

Please take note again that the document cut off for both of our service lanes in MAREX and ALEX would now be 12:00 noon 3-calendar day prior to vessel ETA direct loading port in order to comply with the rule. Please check with our schedule publication for the document cut off of each sailing vessel for MAREX and ALEX accordingly. Also, with our further review during this period, please be informed that we are going to implement below charges for all Mexico shipment under this new rule from September 1st.

 

 

CDDC (Charge Data Declaration Charge)                    - US$30 per bill of lading

CDDC CF (Correction Fee)                                         - US$40 per bill of lading

 

 

Thus, we will be starting to collect the said charges from following vessels onwards: -

Please ensure you and your business partners be ready for this Mexican 24 Hours Rule which works the same as for United States, but at this stage Mexican Customs will not send out "Hold" messages. We will keep you advice once this changes. However, any late submission of cargo manifest or mis-declaration will be subjected to possible penalty in destination to customers by the authorities.
