NEW ZEALAND CUSTOMS REQUIREMENTS

 

 

Please kindly note that the following new requirements from the New Zealand Customs ¨C Advance Import Cargo reporting via Electronic Cargo Information (ECI) have been commenced its operation on July 1st, 2004. In this connection, the followings are implemented. Please kindly follow below guidelines: -

 

(1) Documentation Cut Off Time ¨C It was set by 5 days after vessel sailing from origin loading port for shipments export to New Zealand.

 

(2) Ultimate Consignee details with full address are required. If the ultimate consignee provided is an overseas address and or no street address provided for a local consignee IE:  PO Box numbers given only, then NZ Customs may delay the release of the cargo.

 

(3) Precise and detailed cargo description is required. That is main cargo description is required in order to provide actual cargo information. Please ensure to submit complete and full details of cargo description. 

 

(4) Full Dangerous Cargo (D.G.) details are required. D.G. details are to be reported to New Zealand Customs, including Class 9 where contents are under fumigation whilst in transit. That is, D.G. details such as Flash Point / UNDG code / IMO class / IMO page are required.

As such, we appreciate your immediate attention and full compliance to the above regulations. If not comply or any defective found on your B/L manifest, New Zealand Customs might delay the release of the cargo for which any Customs penalty and terminal operational charges incurred will be on shipperĄŻs account.
